I've said it before and I'll say it again, Trailblazer guides take some beating.

Kym McConnell

Kym McConnell first set foot in Tibet more than ten years ago not long after finishing his final university exams. He has been travelling in the region on and off ever since, one visit including a six-month stint in northern India working for the Tibetan Government-in-Exile.

Kym grew up in Blenheim in New Zealand and currently lives in London. He believes travel to be the gift of our generation and any opportunity to explore another part of the world to be priceless. He does not claim to be a cycle guru: he bought his first mountain bike only three weeks before arriving in Lhasa to research this book.

He continues to take an active interest in Tibetan issues and to maximize every opportunity that presents itself for travel to remote regions of the world.
